Public Lands, Local Hearts, and Front Porch Conversations
Public Lands: The Foundation of Our Heritage
I believe Wyoming’s public lands are the cornerstone of our economy and our unique way of life. I fully support the framework of SJ0009, which calls on the federal government to respect Wyoming’s “Multiple Use” heritage.
Whether it is grazing and mineral development or hunting, fishing, biking, hiking and other recreation, these lands must remain accessible to the public. I believe decisions regarding Wyoming’s landscapes should be driven by local stakeholder input and sound science, not distant mandates. I will fight to keep public lands in public hands, ensuring our outdoor traditions—from the Red Grade Trails to the Bighorn National Forest—are preserved for generations to come.
The Spirit of Service: Celebrating Our Volunteers
In Sheridan County, volunteers are the ones who show up and do the heavy lifting to keep our community beautiful. This past weekend, I was inspired to see so many neighbors out with rakes maintaining the Hidden Hoot Trail, and others with garbage bags and gloves cleaning up our local parks. My Rotary Club picked up trash in the Malcolm Wallop Park.
The momentum continues this coming Saturday as the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) hosts a walk to raise awareness for mental health. It is this spirit of service that makes our county such a special place to live.
Coming to a Neighborhood Near You
The “boots on the ground” phase of the campaign officially begins this week! My volunteers and I will start knocking on doors across the district. I am eager to hear directly from you about the issues that matter most to your family.
If you’d like to chat before I make it to your door, please don’t hesitate to call me at (307) 752-1762. I’m always ready to listen.
