Investing in the Sciences at Sheridan College

Sheridan College is a cornerstone of our community, providing critical training for the nurses, dental hygienists, and technical professionals who keep Wyoming moving forward. Having served as a former Sheridan College employee and now as an independent grant writer, I’ve had the privilege of being on the front lines of securing funding for major campus milestones—including the Technical Center and the Health Science Center.

Recently, the groundbreaking for the expanded and renovated Science Center marked a massive step forward. It was a true celebration of the sciences and a reminder of how vital it is to provide upgraded facilities and state-of-the-art laboratories for our students.

During the ceremony, our dedicated science faculty shared their memories of working in the dated facility, alongside their inspired dreams for a better educational environment. Ensuring our students and educators have the tools they need isn’t just an academic investment; it’s an economic driver that keeps our brightest talent right here at home.

Facing the Affordable Housing Challenge Head-On

But training a skilled workforce is only half the equation—those workers need a place to live.

Recently, a local resident shared a sentiment that is becoming all too common in our area: “I am struggling to pay rent.” It breaks my heart to hear this from neighbors living in the county we all love so much. Rising costs are stretching families to their limits.

Organizations like Habitat for Humanity of the Eastern Bighorns are doing incredible, essential work to alleviate the shortage of affordable housing in our community. But nonprofits cannot do it alone.

As your legislator, I will bring my decades of experience in economic development and grant writing to Cheyenne to tackle these issues systematically. I am committed to:
